        In mai putin de 2 saptamani, Presedintele Constantinescu va face o vizita in Statele Unite. Scopul principal al vizitei este primirea unei distinctii din partea Asociatiei Juristilor Americani. Nu stim care sunt criteriile pe care se bazeaza acordarea premiului Central and East European Law Initiative (CEELI), insa citind CURRICULUM VITAE se observa ca Prof. Dr. Emil Constantinescu, President of Romania, a fost un "dezident" inca din 1961. In curriculum vitae nu se mentioneaza daca a fost membru PCR si ce functii politice a avut intre 1961 si 1989. Este usor de presupus ca Asociatia Juristilor Americani nu a fost informata de performanta Romaniei sub conducerea Preseditelui Constantinescu in problema retrocedarii bunurilor furate de catre comunisti si detinute si exploatate de catre prezentul guvern. In ultimii 3 ani s'au "vandut" mai multe case decat in toti anii precedenti, de foarte multe ori chiar si atunci cand proprietarul era in proces de revendicare. Romania este departe de a fi un STAT DE DREPT! O stim cu totii cum se imparte dreptatea in Romania.


Rugam insistent pe toti proprietarii de drept sa trimita o scrisoare, fax sau email, informand ABA (American Bar Association) de problemele pe care le intampinam in problema retrocedarii proprietatilor

Vom recapata proprietatile inapoi numai daca vom reusi sa convingem guvernul de la Bucuresti ca nu ne vom lasa pana nu recuperam totul. De asemeni trebuie sa documentam ca profitorii actiunilor guvernului si parlamentului de la Bucuresti sunt fosti si prezenti membri ai guvernului, nomenclaturii, securitatii si rudele si clientii nostri. Cercetati urgent cine locuieste in proprietatea Dvs, cine a fost, ce este, cu cine se inrudeste.
Daca propaganda guvernului Radu Vasile, anume ca in casele noastre stau oameni nevoiasi, pe care guvernul trebuie sa-i protejeze si ca guvernul este sarac si nu poate construi locuinte, nu este combatuta cu date exacte si fapte, sansele de recuperare rapida scad.

Judge at the Commercial Department, Tribunal of Pitesti. Restrictions imposed on the judicial system by the communist regime make him decide to abandon his position and to pursue studies in geology.

Assistant lecturer, lecturer and senior lecturer in the Faculty of Geology-Geography, University of Bucharest.

University Professor in Mineralogy-Crystallography with in the Faculty of Geology and Geophysics, University of Bucharest.

POLITICAL ACTIVITY:
1990
Founding member and leader of the Universitarian Solidarity, an organization of professors, researchers and students working for the democratic reconstruction of Romania. Founding member and member of the Steering Committee of the Civic Alliance, the most comprehensive and influential organization of the civil society in Romania, which aimed at and succeeded in supporting the democratization of Romanian society and in promoting inter-ethnic co-operation.
1991 - 1994
President of the Civic Academy.
1991
Chairman in office of the Romanian Democratic and Anti-totalitarian Forum which, in November 1991, set up the Romanian Democratic Convention (CDR), a broad center-right political alliance bringing together Christian-Democrat, Liberal, Social-Democrat and Environmental parties, as well as civic organizations and the Hungarian Democratic Union of Romania.
1992
Sole candidate of the Romanian Democratic Convention for presidential elections in autumn 1992. He goes into the second electoral round with the then-acting President (Ion Iliescu) and gains 38% of the votes. He is elected President of the Romanian Democratic Convention.
1993 -1996
He implements a CDR organizational conception based on the following understanding the citizens' real needs, drafting a clear and precise political offer; selecting and training specialists capable of offering solutions to the serious economic, political, social or administrative problems Romania is facing. In March 1995 he is re-elected President of the CDR and becomes the sole candidate of this alliance for the up-coming presidential elections. In November 1995 under his leadership, the CDR launches the Contract with Romania, a political and electoral program based on a series of clear objectives, with a precise timeframe, aiming at solving the most difficult problems of Romania. As leader of opposition in Romania, he has meetings with heads of state and governments and also party leaders from many countries of the world; he builds a system of international political relations for the center-right Romanian opposition, in this context his voice becomes stronger and more credible.
1996 In February, the Democratic Convention led by Emil Constantinescu wins the local elections in most of the cities of Romania, including the capital - Bucharest.
On November 3, the Romanian Democratic Convention wins the parliamentary elections, thus becoming the main political grouping of the Government.
On November 17, Emil Constantinescu is elected, by direct vote, President of Romania.
1997 - 1998 As head of State, he sets up and leads the Committee for Combating Corruption and Organized Crime, launches and co-ordinates several programs, including "The Children of Romania" Program, "Romania at the Crossroads" as a program for the development of regional infrastructure, and the &quote;Poverty-combatting&quote; Program.
At the international level, he strongly supports Romania's integration into NATO and the European Union; the consolidation of bilateral relations and the development of trilateral agreements in Central and South-East Europe, in the political and economic fields and in combating cross-border crime. He promotes the historical reconciliation with Hungary and Ukraine.

R J Goldstone
     Justice of the Constitutional Court

     Richard J Goldstone was born on 26th October 1938. After graduating from the University of the Witwatersrand with a BA LLB cum laude in 1962 he practiced as an Advocate at the Johannesburg Bar. In 1976 he was appointed Senior Counsel and in 1980 was made Judge of the Transvaal Supreme Court. In 1989 he was appointed Judge of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court. Since July 1994 he has been a Justice of the Constitutional Court of South Africa.

     From 1991 - 1994, he served as Chairperson of the Commission of Inquiry regarding Public Violence and Intimidation which came to be known as the Goldstone Commission. He is also Chairperson of the Standing Advisory Committee of Company Law. From 15 August 1994 to September 1996 he served as the Chief Prosecutor of the United Nations International Criminal Tribunals for the former Yugoslavia and Rwanda.
     Justice Goldstone is National President of the National Institute of Crime Prevention and the Rehabilitation of Offenders (NICRO), chairperson of the Bradlow Foundation, a charitable educational trust, and heads the board of the Human Rights Institute of South Africa (HURISA).

     His other responsibilities include being the Chancellor of the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, a member of the Board of its School of Law, a Governor of the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and President of World ORT (an international technical and technology training organization). He is a member of the International Panel established in August 1997 by the Government of Argentina to monitor the Argentinean Inquiry to elucidate Nazi activities in the Argentine Republic since 1938.

     The many awards he has received locally and internationally include the International Human Rights Award of the American Bar Association (1994)and Honorary Doctorates of Law from the Universities of Cape Town, Witwatersrand, Natal, Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Notre Dame, Maryland University College, Wilfred Laurier in Ontario, the University of Glasgow and the Catholic University of Brabant in Tilburg, the Netherlands. He is an Honorary Bencher of the Inner Temple, London, an Honorary Fellow of St Johns College, Cambridge, an Honorary Member of the Association of the Bar of New York, and a Fellow of the Center for International Affairs of Harvard University. He was a member of the faculty of the Salzburg Seminar in 1996 and 1998.

     He is married (wife Noleen) and has two married daughters - Glenda and Nicole. He has two grandsons, Jason and Sean.
