Congressman Adrian Iorgulescu claims that 42 members of the Parliament (from the CDR)

may loose their houses if a new law will be passed

“100 members of the Parliament, (42 from the CDR) have purchased houses under the law 112, so they are interested in keeping the ambiguous status of the nationalized properties” – declared yesterday Congressman Adrian Iorgulescu, co-president of UFD (a small political party). He claims that the changes brought by the Juridical Commission of the Chamber of Deputies to the law of the wrongfully confiscated properties reflects the fact that the CDR and the main opposition party (PDSR) share the same view regarding property restitution. He is stating that: ”there is a new form of cooperation between PDSR and CDR in trying to cover up the injustices contained in Iliescu’s law 112/1995”.

Congressman Adrian Iorgulescu accused CDR’s parties (PNTCD and PNL) that they are rushing to promote the new law of the restitution of the wrongfully confiscated properties in order to gain electoral capital. “In order to present themselves before the voters claiming that they have respected their electoral promises, PNTCD and PNL reached a compromise* with PDSR”- declared UFD’s co-president. Congressman Adrian Iorgulescu claims that CDR have not defined yet their position regarding properties restitution. The new bill prevents from making a claim the rightful owners whose properties were confiscated by decree 92/1950. This decree considered them “exploiters”, a political characterization. Both the law 119/1948 and the decree 92/1950 are illegal and abusive thus their effect must be corrected. Furthermore, the UFD considers that one cannot discriminate between poor and rich owners.
